The Conversation Starts in New York: Join the Inaugural CIS Collaborative

Updated: Jul 7

When utility leaders discuss Customer Information System (CIS) transformations, one theme consistently rises to the top: the value of learning from peers who have already navigated the journey.

This September, those conversations officially begin.

On September 23–24, Innovate UtilityCX (IUCX) will host the inaugural CIS Collaborative meeting at Con Edison in New York City, bringing together utility executives and project leaders for candid discussions around one of the industry's most significant technology investments.

Designed exclusively for electric, gas, and water utilities of any size, the CIS Collaborative creates a confidential, utility-only environment where participants can openly discuss strategy, validate decisions, benchmark progress, and share lessons learned throughout the CIS lifecycle. Whether your organization is planning a new implementation, transitioning to SaaS, stabilizing after go-live, or optimizing an existing platform, the Collaborative is designed to foster meaningful conversations that help reduce risk and improve outcomes.

The inaugural meeting will feature peer-led discussions on topics including:

  • CIS strategy and Phase Zero planning

  • SaaS transformation and vendor selection

  • Operational readiness and go-live success

  • AI and customer operations

  • Data governance and integrations

  • Change management and workforce readiness

  • Post-implementation value realization

Hosted by Patrick Hooper, IT Director at Con Edison and Venue Executive for the CIS Collaborative, the New York meeting is intentionally designed to encourage collaboration, practical knowledge sharing, and lasting professional relationships among utility leaders facing similar challenges. Patrick’s resume includes the implementation of 18 CIS systems.

Utilities interested in exploring the CIS Collaborative before becoming members will have the opportunity to attend the inaugural New York meeting for $495. Organizations that subsequently join the CIS Collaborative can apply their event registration fee toward the cost of an annual membership, providing an easy way to experience the value of the community before making a longer-term commitment.

Registration will open soon. If your utility is planning, implementing, or optimizing a Customer Information System, now is the perfect time to join the CIS Collaborative interest list. You'll be among the first to receive registration details, membership information, and updates as this new utility community continues to grow.
